OfficeMax sets shareholders meeting to vote on merger

Naperiville-based OfficeMax Inc. has set July 10 meeting of shareholders to consider and vote on the company’s merger with Office Depot.

Shareholders will meet at 10 a.m. at the Hotel Arista at City Gate Centre, 2139 City Gate Lane in Naperville. Shareholders of record as of the close of business on May 28, will be eligible to vote at the special meeting.

OfficeMax and Florida-based Office Depot announced plans to merge last February. The merger of the two office supply service giants is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to stockholder approval from both companies, the receipt of regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.
