Man’s death on Tri-State result of collision, examiner confirms

A 50-year-old Norridge resident died from cranial cerebral injuries suffered in a high-speed traffic accident on the Tri-State Tollway Thursday night, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy released Saturday afternoon confirmed Andrew Lam’s head injuries occurred when his minivan was struck from behind by a sport utility vehicle at 11:51 p.m. Thursday near the O’Hare Oasis. Only the two vehicles were involved.

Lam was pronounced dead the following day at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Illinois State Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.
