They get straight As. They take some of the toughest courses imaginable. They are very smart, enviably self-disciplined and acutely aware of the world around them.
It's hard to beat these graduating high school seniors, who have been named to the Daily Herald 2012-2013 Academic Team.
The students are all headed to college to study for careers as diverse as biomedical engineering, journalism and theater. But whatever it is they choose to do, each of them believes that with great ability also comes great responsibility.
Each high school was limited to two nominations, so each student was put through a highly selective process to get to this point.
Therefore, we are pleased to bring you this year's Academic Team and the honorable mentions, as proud representatives of the Class of 2013.
