University of Wisconsin System regents to vote on pay-raise proposal
MILWAUKEE — The regents of the University of Wisconsin System are expected to vote on a proposal that could eventually lead to pay raises for all UW System employees.
The board of regents will vote when it wraps up its two-day meeting Friday in Milwaukee.
The proposal involves requests the UW System would make of the Office of State Employment Relations, and a recommendation for the legislative committee that oversees employment relations.
It involves asking that UW System employees be included in any salary hikes given to all state employees. It also involves requesting that the UW System be given autonomy to provide further salary increases from its own resources.
The proposal was already passed Thursday by the regents’ business, finance and audit committee.
