Authorities say mom admitted stabbing baby
Cook County prosecutors say a Chicago woman admitted to killing her 5-month-old son by stabbing him dozens of times in a motel bathroom.
Prosecutors said 21-year-old Kimberlynn Bolanos told investigators that she killed her son because she had premonitions something bad would happen to him and was afraid he’d be taken away because of her crack habit.
The infant, Isaac Bolanos, was killed in the May 30 attack in a North Side motel. Authorities said he was stabbed almost 30 times and his throat slit while strapped in a car seat.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the slaying was discovered by the woman’s boyfriend, who called police.
They found the baby dead and Bolanos trying to hurt herself, police said.
Bolanos’ public defender says the woman suffers from mental disorders.
