Fast Facts: Naperville North is the state’s No. 1 team and the Huskies are looking to make their third consecutive trip to the state tournament this season. The defending state champions are led by a fleet of Division I players, led by dynamic forward Zoe Swift (Kentucky). Climo (Bucknell), Grygleski (Northwestern), Szalach (Purdue) and Widlacki (Penn State) are also on that list. Boswell is only a sophomore but has emerged as one of the top scoring threats in the state. The Huskies rolled past Romeoville (10-0) and Lockport (4-0) before hanging on to top Neuqua Valley (4-3) in the semifinals. Only twice this season the Huskies did not post a win, and one of them was a 1-1 tie against their sectional final opponents, Waubonsie Valley. Waubonsie is on a roll, winners of 11 straight after shutting out its three sectional opponents thus far, Plainfield East (5-0), Metea Valley (1-0) and No. 2 seed Plainfield North (4-0). Seniors Armand (Louisville) and Romano (Wake Forest) lead the way, but the Warriors feature one of the best freshman classes in the state, as well. Filipek, Laws and Masiak all fortify a diverse and deep offensive attack. The winner of the game faces either Normal Community or Collinsville in the Class 3A Normal Community Super sectional Tuesday at 5 p.m.
