Wasco Baseball in grant contest focused on sportsmanship

The Wasco Baseball program is looking for a little help from the public, and at the same time publicizing its commitment to providing a positive environment for its players.

The league is participating in an online contest, in which it could win $2,500, outlining how adults should behave for youth sports leagues.

“We’d like the public to know for two reasons: 1, so they know that we’re about providing a responsible, positive sports experience as in our mission statement; and 2, anyone who supports this kind of experience can help us by taking the quiz and crediting their point to us,” said Scott Buziecki, a Wasco Baseball volunteer.

The grant is from Responsible Sports. To participate, visit responsiblesports.com/programs/grants/overview. To earn a point for Wasco Baseball, you will watch a video, then take a quiz.

The top five winning organizations will receive $2,500 awards.

The contest ends May 31.

Responsible Sports encourages mastery learning in sports, how to handle a child’s mistakes, respectful behavior to players, coaches and officials, and safety.
