Two drivers injured in Hawthorn Woods crash
Two drivers were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision Friday morning in Hawthorn Woods, authorities said.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Hawley Street and Gilmer Road at 9:24 a.m., according to Lt. Jim Weber of the Countryside Fire Protection District.
Both drivers were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment, though the extent of their injuries was unknown.
Some lanes of both streets were blocked for about a half-hour as crews pulled the drivers from the wreckage and investigators began crash reconstruction.
It's unclear how the crash occurred, and officials from the Hawthorn Woods Police Department didn't provide additional details.
