• Adan Sandoval, 20, of the 400 block of South Edison Avenue, Elgin, and Reggie Cortez, 18, of the 900 block of Annandale Drive, Elgin, were arrested just after 1 a.m. Friday on the 0-100 block of North Grove Street, police reports said. Sandoval was charged with armed violence, mob action and four counts of aggravated battery, while Cortez was charged with one count of aggravated battery and mob action. Police responded to a report of a fight at a bar, after which two stabbing victims were taken to Sherman Hospital. Sandoval and Cortez were charged after police reviewed cellphone video taken by a witness, and video surveillance footage.
• Junaid Ahmad Jr., 20, of the 600 block of Alice Place, Elgin, was charged Tuesday with possession of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis, manufacture/delivery of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police report. Ahmad was stopped at Big Timber Road and Todd Farm Drive after failing to yield while turning left. Ahmad's bail was set at $50,000 in Elgin bond court. His next court date is May 22.
• Gilberto Lemuz-Mora, 38, of the 1200 block of Deepwoods Drive, Elgin, was arrested Friday and charged with manufacture/delivery of between 2,000 and 5,000 grams of cannabis, possession of between 2,000 and 5,000 grams of cannabis, a police report said. Lemuz-Mora was arrested after police executed a search warrant.
• Rafael Lopez III, 26, of the 300 block of DuPage Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with aggravated DUI, no valid license and no insurance after hitting a construction barrier near Big Timber and Randall roads near Elgin at 12:22 a.m. Sunday and getting stuck in a construction embankment, according to a sheriff's report.
