Arlington Heights live streaming village meetings

Arlington Heights residents can now access more information about the issues before the village board — and then watch trustees deal with them live — wherever an Internet connection is available.

The village this month launched its new online initiative putting full village board agendas and packets on the Arlington Heights website, and offering live streaming and on-demand videos of all board meetings.

The initiative, approved by the board in January 2012, includes spending $12,000 annually for digital board packets and $2,500 this year for video equipment to help live stream meetings.

The move should free up staffers who previously spent hours each week preparing packets that were several hundred pages for village trustees, staff and media.

Residents can access the board packets, minutes and videos at http://www.vah.com/government/boardagendas_minutes_videos/
