Deng, Hinrich out tonight against Heat

MIAMI — Luol Deng is staying in Chicago and not rejoining the Bulls for Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Coach Tom Thibodeau also said guard Kirk Hinrich will miss Game 2 Wednesday night.

Deng was recently hospitalized because of illness, needing a spinal tap. He was planning to fly to Miami and at least be with his teammates, but now Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau says Deng's status for the rest of the series is unknown.

Thibodeau also says guard Kirk Hinrich's calf injury is improving, though he'll miss Wednesday night's game. Hinrich played 60 minutes in Chicago's triple-overtime win over Brooklyn in Game 4 of their first-round series, and has not played since.

Also, guard Derrick Rose was ruled out of Game 2, the 96th consecutive game he will miss since hurting his knee in April 2012.
