Volunteers needed for annual A-May-Zing Mundelein

By

The village of Mundelein and the Mundelein Police Department are seeking volunteers to participate in the annual A-May-Zing Mundelein event set for Saturday, May 18.

It's been 18 years since the village's Project CAPE (Create A Positive Environment) initiated this annual volunteer spring cleanup event.

A-May-Zing Mundelein's success has been due to the local residents, organizations and businesses that volunteer their time to complete spring cleanup projects at the homes of residents in need of a helping hand.

Last year, A-May-Zing Mundelein had 114 residents volunteer, including families, Scout troops, churches, local organizations and businesses. These volunteers completed spring cleanup projects at 45 locations throughout the village that ranged from yard work, window washing, and home safety inspections to small outdoor repairs.

In addition, several area businesses donated supplies to help complete the projects and food and refreshments for the hard-working volunteers.

Project CAPE is seeking volunteers for this year's A-May-Zing Mundelein. The event will kick off at the Mundelein Police Department with registration and continental breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m.

Volunteers should plan on working through late morning or early afternoon.

Any residents, organizations or businesses that wish to volunteer or donate supplies should call Jennifer Marshall at the Mundelein Police Department, (847) 968-3775.

Residents in need of assistance with their spring cleanup projects should also call the same phone number to register. Project suggestions for common areas within the community are also welcome.
