Have you ever heard of lupus? Most people haven't. It is an autoimmune, chronic disease that is so little understood that the Lupus Foundation of America calls it "a cruel mystery." About 1.5 million Americans live with it, and its impact is devastating to the sufferers and to those who love them.
In my case the sufferer is my adult daughter, and her suffering affects her husband, her family, his family, and their friends and co-workers. May is Lupus Awareness Month, so please learn about it. Go to lupus.org and consider donating $10 or $20 for all the people around you who must cope daily with this disease.
