New ‘Phantom of the Opera’ tour to be staged next year

“The Phantom of the Opera” is coming back to Chicago, but not like you’ve seen it before.

A new tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s blockbuster musical will play Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre from Wednesday, Jan. 22, through Sunday, March 2, 2014. The new “Phantom” tour previously played in the U.K. and is staged by director Laurence Connor.

With changes to staging and scenery, the tour differs from the current New York production — the longest-running show in Broadway history — by director Harold Prince. The show was last seen on tour in Chicago in 2007.

Tickets range from $25-$95 and are on sale now for groups of 15 or more. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date. Call (312) 977-1710 or visit broadwayinchicago.com for more information.
