Don't politicize medical profession

I was very disappointed that Dr. Ben Carson felt the need to drop out as Johns Hopkins commencement speaker. This is a medical school. Who better to inspire upcoming doctors than one who has overcome great obstacles to reach the pinnacle of that profession?

It is particularly discouraging that future doctors (supposedly the cream of the crop) can't even set aside petty differences and listen to such a professionally accomplished person because he had the audacity to publicly express what are clearly mainstream thoughts in another venue.

It is apparent that not only do our public schools no longer expect much in the way of learning or demonstrate much in the way of respect for our founding principles but even our medical schools are now driven by the same closed minds. Does this mean that in the future we will not only have to face health care run by politicians, but will need to check our doctor's political affiliation to be confident he or she will give us the best they have to offer?
