About this Article

Damage to Island Park in Geneva may be more extensive than park district officials estimated, parks director Sheavoun Lambillotte said Monday afternoon. It appears Thursday's torrents of river water washed away much of the dirt-related work done last summer while the park was closed during reconstruction of the north bridge. Meanwhile, North Aurora is asking residents to submit reports of any damage they suffered, to be turned in to Kane County for its application for federal aid.
