Elections should be won by majorities
Congratulations to Thomas Hayes, Village President Elect of Arlington Heights, even though more people voted against him than for him. That seems awfully undemocratic to me. Elections should be won by a majority of votes, not just a plurality. If scheduling runoff elections is too difficult, then perhaps it is time for instant-runoff voting. It’s not like we don’t have the technology to make it happen.
