Evanston’s Links Capital sells Oregon Golf Club

Links Capital Advisors, Inc., of Evanston, recently sold the Oregon Golf Club, 250 S. Daysville Road in Oregon, Ill., for $425,000.

A local investor purchased Oregon Golf Club, a private 9-hole course on 92 acres along the Rock River. The club was founded in 1926 by members and features a 6,195 square foot, two-floor clubhouse with dining and banquet capacity of 120 guests.

“This sale is another example of the struggles that private clubs are going through all over the country,” said Chris Charnas of Links. “Oregon Golf Club was once a vibrant, healthy club, but over time membership declined due to the economy and demographic trends. Hopefully, the new owner will be able to revive the club so it can thrive once again.”

Charnas represented the seller, Harvard State Bank in the transaction. It is the sixth golf course that Links has sold in the last 12 months. The company is currently marketing eight other courses across the country.
