County, federal officials aim to help McHenry residents

McHenry County residents can learn more about how the McHenry County Emergency Management Agency officials can help with flood recovery and financial assistance. Here is information available online: www.illinois.gov/ready/SiteCollectionDocuments/DisasterDeclarationProcess.pdf

Ready Illinois also provides information regarding flood recovery. Each area of the county may start their recovery process at different times because of different water levels. Information on flood water safety, common scams after a disaster and more is at www.illinois.gov/ready/after/Pages/Disaster-Recovery. aspx

Part of the recovery process will be assessment teams going to affected flooded areas and assessing the damage. Residents are encouraged to cooperate with these teams, which will help you in the public assistance funding process. Each team will have a credentialed representative that will identify them with McHenry County or the Emergency Management Agency.
