Indiana woman convicted of running over ex-boyfriend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — A northeastern Indiana woman has been convicted of battery and other charges for driving over her ex-boyfriend and leaving him in agony in a dark parking lot.

An Allen County jury convicted 22-year-old Katie Miller on Tuesday night of battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in injury.

The Journal Gazette reports Deputy Prosecutor Patricia Pikel opened her case with two 911 calls, one in which the victim can be heard screaming in the background.

Prosecutors said Miller ran over 21-year-old Arthur “A.J.” Zick in September in a parking lot following an argument, leaving him with a compound fracture to his left leg.

Zick testified he cared for Miller but their 2 ½-year relationship was volatile.
