Hospital app now features imaging, lab results

Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) has unveiled new imaging and lab results functionality for its mobile app, MyNCH, allowing NCH Medical Group patients to view their lab and imaging results with just the tap of a finger on their smartphone.

In addition to the new clinical functionality, MyNCH also is available on Android mobile devices. Last year, NCH unveiled MyNCH on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) to allow individuals to better manage their urgent and day-to-day health care needs.

MyNCH is a multifunctional mobile app that provides people with instant access to NCH’s network of NCH Medical Group physicians, hospital services, emergency care, immediate care and specialty centers throughout Chicago’s Northwest suburbs. NCH is among the first health care providers in Illinois and one of only 13 comparable hospitals in the country to provide its patients with a robust mobile app.

The MyNCH app features an interactive facility locator with details about all NCH locations and the services provided at each facility. And, in the event of an injury or illness, MyNCH users can quickly identify the NCH facility nearest their location, review the level of care provided, and instantly access driving directions. Estimated wait times at the NCH Adult and Pediatric Emergency Rooms and the four NCH Immediate Care Centers are also part of this robust mobile health care manager.

For an individual’s daily health care needs, the app includes a comprehensive appointment request service in which users can request appointments based on their preferred NCH Medical Group physician, location and/or medical service. For lab services, diagnostic tests or Medical Group office visits scheduled with NCH, patients can manage their appointments, access driving directions and even contact an NCH practitioner via message or one-touch dialing. MyNCH users also can access NCH’s website for additional information about medical services, upcoming community health events and the profiles of more than 1,000 physicians on staff at NCH.

In addition to Android devices, MyNCH is available for download in the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices. There is no charge to download the MyNCH app, but specified rates from wireless providers may apply.
