4 players to leave DePaul men’s basketball

DePaul University has granted permission for men’s basketball players Montray Clemons, Moses Morgan, Jodan Price and Derrell Robertson Jr. to contact other institutions for transfer opportunities.

All four players will remain at DePaul through the completion of the spring quarter.

“We appreciate the efforts of these four players,” said head coach Oliver Purnell, whose team finished 11-21 overall and 2-16 in the Big East. “We support their decisions to look for other opportunities.”

After beating Providence on Jan. 5 on the road, DePaul went 1-16 the rest of the way, with the lone victory coming against Rutgers and its embattled program.

Clemons played in 19 games this season and averaged 1.3 points and 1.1 rebounds per game while Morgan averaged 5.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 29 games. Morgan saw action in 83 games over his three-year career. Price saw action in eight games as a freshman and Robertson played in 61 games in two seasons. He averaged 1.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 32 games in 2012-13.
