Cary Lions Free Screenings

The Cary Lions Club is sponsoring the Lions of Illinois Hearing Van and the Diabetic Retinopathy/ Macular Degeneration Van on Monday April 8th, 2013 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Both vans will be located on Rt #14 in the parking lot in front of the Jewel in Cary.

The free hearing / vision screenings takes about 10 -15 minutes each and there are no appointments necessary. The certified technicians will provide written test results for your records or to share with your health care providers.

There are many causes of hearing loss - most commonly age. 40% over the age of 65 and 80% over the age of 85 experience hearing loss but hearing loss often begins much earlier and goes unnoticed.

Diabetic Retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that affects the eyes and is caused by damage to the blood vessels of the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye (retina). Diabetic Retinopathy is the leading cause for new blindness in adults in the United States. The screening is designed for both Type 1 & Type 2 diabetics.

Diagnosed early, hearing and vision loss in usually easier to address medically. Take a few minutes to see if you may have early stages of hearing or vision loss so you can hear and see what you are missing.

This service is provided free by community donations to the Cary Lions. For more information about the Cary Lions, please visit www.carylions.org
