Why trust in a 2,000-year-old book?

I know that some "science-y" study says that lesbians make better parents than a heterosexual couple. I've read that sports stars (including Ernie Banks, Richard Dent, Chris Kluwe and Hunter Hillenmeyer) have stood up in favor of marriage equality. It has been reported that business leaders (including leaders of Orbitz, Google, Hyatt, Morningstar and Chicago Cubs Charities) have stated that "to be competitive, a state must create an equitable, fair and respectful environment for all of its citizens. For this reason -- among others -- it is vitally important that Illinois lawmakers enact marriage equality soon."

But all that is irrelevant. I have a 2,000-year-old book, written by shepherds in the deserts of the Middle East, that says otherwise! It mentions (possibly nine times in 1,000-plus pages, including Old and New Testaments) that gays are bad! Even though Jesus never mentions it once, it might be mentioned in the New Testament almost four times. This is serious! Please ignore your logic, intelligence, and/or intuition. Please, just trust my book, and discriminate as the book says to do.
