Elect those who use money appropriately

I doubt that many believe that government resources should be used as part of an election campaign. However, it appears that the existing Avon Township elected officials have different standards.

Many Avon Township residents received a newsletter on March 28, less than two weeks before the upcoming election, that describe claimed accomplishments of the incumbents seeking election. Avon Township has not consistently issued a newsletter, and I am sure that I have not received one within the last year. This letter was clearly sent with the intent to influence the election.

If the newsletter is not illegal campaign activity, it is certainly inappropriate use of our funds. I hope we can elect people that we can trust to spend tax dollars wisely.
