He appreciates Geneva’s history

Geneva’s 1st Ward aldermanic race has the distinction of having two candidates vying for this spot. Mike Bruno is one of those candidates.

It is my privilege to recommend Mike Bruno for this position. Mike has the life experience to see various sides of issues that come before the city council.

He has a good working relationship with Geneva’s city planning staff which will be instrumental to the future choices in the direction that Geneva needs to make. Mike’s interest in economic vitality for Geneva’s downtown is both reaching and pragmatic. He also has a manner that makes people feel at east which fosters cooperation.

As to his historic preservation interest, Mike has served 11-plus years on Geneva’s Historic Preservation Commission and has helped find solutions that satisfy both the needs of Geneva’s Historic District building owners and the criteria of Geneva’s Historic Preservation Ordinances as well as the U.S. Department of the Interior’s standards. Mike clearly understands that historic preservation is critical to keeping our downtown viable.
