Fight between Wis. brothers ends in 1 death

ARGYLE, Wis. — A fight between brothers ended with a death in the southwestern Wisconsin city of Argyle. And the police chief who’d usually be responsible for the investigation is related to both the victim and suspect.

Twenty-seven-year-Aaron Saalsaa was hurt in the fight, which started early Sunday over what Monroe Police call family issues. He died later at a Madison hospital.

His 29-year-old brother was booked into the Lafayette County Jail on a tentative charge of aggravated battery. He posted $5,000 bail Tuesday.

Complicating matters, WMTV-TV reports ), the sister-in-law of both brothers was a witness. She also happens to be Argyle’s chief of police, Haylee Saalsaa.

Due to the conflict of interest, the investigation has been handed over to the Monroe Police Department.
