Don’t enforce your book on our laws

I’m tired of hearing religious believers and zealots pushing their “God” beliefs onto the system of laws that we have in this country, specifically relating to the issue of gay marriage that has become a prime social issue for us today.

The fact that your God or your book doesn’t support gay marriage does not entitle you to categorize gay marriage as the “death of the family” or the “destruction of society.”

This country was founded on the moral beliefs and rights of man that were preached by God fearing religious people of the 1700s. I agree that we need morals, and I completely support our Constitution, but nowhere on that piece of paper does it delegate that the rules of God and the Bible will always dictate our laws.

Believe what you want, as you are entitled to. But don’t you dare try and force your book of stories and beliefs on me or our system of laws.
