Wisconsin man charged in North Central College threat

A 20-year-old Wisconsin man was charged Friday with felony disorderly conduct for posting threatening statements on a Facebook page aimed at Naperville’s North Central College.

Aden Khan, of Madison, was arrested Friday afternoon after Naperville and Wisconsin police searched his home. He is awaiting extradition to Illinois.

Police were called to the campus on March 5 after Dean of Students Kimberly Sluis saw “a disturbing post” on Facebook.

Police would only say the post contained “statements of a threatening nature.”

Police said Khan posted the threatening messages on a Facebook page he had created that was purportedly associated with North Central. In reality, the Facebook page Khan created is in no way associated with the school.

Neither police nor college officials would say whether there is any relationship between Khan and the college. DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin, however, said such threats are taken seriously.

“Any threats made against an institution where there are a large number of people will be taken very seriously and will be met with the full force of the law,” Berlin said in a written statement.
