CLC trustee has record of leadership

I am a trustee at Spoon River Community College in Canton and Macomb and have served several years as a director and central region chairman for the Association of Community Colleges Trustees in Washington, D.C. as well as the Illinois Community College Trustee Association. During this time. I have had the pleasure of working with Barbara D. Oilschlager, who is running for re-election to the College of Lake County Board of Trustees, on both the state and national levels.

She has been a member of the CLC Board of Trustees for 24 years and has worked in the field of education at all levels for over 31 years. She has served on state workforce boards under four different governors for 22 years. She has chaired numerous committees for the Illinois Community College Trustees Association and is a past president of our association.

She is the past president of the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education and she received their Central States Leadership Award as well as the Carl D. Perkins Humanitarian Award.

Barb is a great example of the type of people we need to be involved with providing educational services to all citizens. We need to keep her on the CLC board because she has the background, experience and knowledge to help keep the quality and delivery of education to the highest standards possible. She has a proven record of excellence and she deserves your vote on Tuesday, April 9.
