Neuqua Valley wins in Nashville

Neuqua Valley 10, Briarcrest, Tenn. 2:

The Wildcats improved to 2-0 on their trip to Nashville thanks to 2 hits and an RBI from Matt Wollnik, Dylan Goss and Drew Sterioti. Danny Mokrzycki allowed 1 hit in 5 innings to earn the win. Leading 1-0 Neuqua Valley opened up the lead with a 5-run fourth inning.

Nashville-Franklin (Tenn.) 6, Wheaton North 5:

Franklin scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to escape with the win in Nashville. Lake Bachar led Wheaton North's 7-hit season-opening outing by going 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI. Tom Colletti also had 2 hits.

Mountain Pointe (Ariz.) 8, Downers South 6:

The Mustangs (0-2) surrendered a 3-0 lead in Arizona, allowing 4 runs in the fourth inning and 3 runs in the sixth. Danny Mayer and Javier Martinez each had 2 hits and 2 RBI for Downers South while Zack Burdi took the loss.
