Here’s a little tip for Metropolis Centre

As you know, the Metropolis Theater is a jewel here in the Northwest suburbs. It draws people from the surrounding suburbs into the beautiful downtown Arlington Heights complex. So it is in the best interest of the town’s administration to support the Metropolis, at least in some basic ways.

I seriously suggest that the next time the village board convenes, they should hold their meeting in one of the restrooms at the Metropolis. I think they would quickly realize that they are not getting a good value from the cleaning service they have hired to clean them. The restrooms look clean but they smell like someone swabbed them down with musty, mildewed mops and then left dirty rags around the room.

The odor was the topic of conversation each time I stepped into the restroom last night. A Metropolis employee told me their hands were tied since the village maintains the restrooms. In fact, they had asked the village several times to correct the situation over the past few months. So I’m making their plight public by writing here today.

This suggestion is not as tongue-in-cheek as you may surmise. Go there and check it out. It was so bad that it detracted from the usual wonderful Metropolis experience for me and many others. I hope you decide that bleach and elbow grease are an easy, inexpensive fix that will show respect for your village’s guests.
