RiverEdge contracts up for vote in Aurora

Aurora City Council is set to vote on two contracts related to the highly anticipated RiverEdge Park during a meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in city hall, 44 E. Downer Place.

The contracts would purchase a cash register system for the park’s food, alcohol and ticket vendors, and would pay for installation of fiber cabling to connect the park to the city’s broadband Internet network.

The cash register system contract is for no more than $150,000 with Retail Control Solutions of Bensenville, and the fiber cabling contract would cost $172,137, paid to multiple vendors.

RiverEdge Park’s Music Garden is set to open June 14 for Blues on the Fox. Mayor Tom Weisner said during his state of the City address last week that the park will host the city’s fireworks display for the Fourth of July and many other concerts and events during its opening season.
