Mark Spreyer, naturalist at Stillman Nature Center in South Barrington, has been selected to receive a 2013 Environmental Preservation Award from Garfield Farm Museum in LaFox in recognition of his efforts to preserve and interpret the environment of northern Illinois. Spreyer will receive the award at the museum's 25th annual awards dinner and ceremony on Saturday, April 27, at the Dunham Woods Riding Club in Wayne. The awards were established to bring attention and publicity to efforts that parallel the museum's own three themes of history, farming and the environment.
