Bulls add another backup big man
The Bulls finally filled that void left behind when Lou Amundson departed for New Orleans.
Granted, Amundson played all of two minutes during his 10-day contact with the Bulls. Now 6-foot-9 Malcolm Thomas will try to do more. He signed a 10-day with the Bulls on Tuesday.
Thomas had an impressive run for the Bulls summer league team last year, averaging 11.4 points and 12.4 rebounds in five games.
The San Diego native started his college career at Pepperdine, then transferred to San Diego State, where he played with current San Antonio forward Kawhi Leonard.
After going undrafted in 2011, Thomas played in Korea, Israel and the D-League. He appeared in three games for San Antonio last season and just finished a 10-day contract with Golden State. He played 10 minutes against the Bulls last Friday.
