The first two graduates of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court Veterans Assistance Court were rewarded during an elaborate ceremony Friday at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan. Judges John T. Phillips and Mark L. Levitt, both of whom preside over veterans court, thanked the large crowd of dignitaries for their support before graduates "Roman" and "Maurice" were rewarded for their efforts. Capt. Randall L. Lynch, the commanding officer of Naval Station Great Lakes, and Patrick L. Sullivan, director of the Capt. James A. Lovell Center, praised the veterans court for helping servicemen and women who struggle in the criminal court after returning home from active duty.
