Ÿ A Chevy Savannah containing $40,000 worth of construction equipment was stolen between 6:30 p.m. and 6:53 p.m. Wednesday from the 6N700 block of Tuscola Avenue near St. Charles, according to a sheriff report.
Ÿ An estimated $1,605 worth of drills, bits, saws and other tools were reported stolen from a work van in the 34W700 block of Five Island Road near St. Charles at 2:42 p.m. Thursday, according to a sheriff report.
Ÿ A resident of the 11N600 block of Howard Avenue near Elgin reported at 11:59 p.m. March 9 that gold rings and necklaces with an estimated value of $20,000 were stolen from the residence, according to a sheriff report.
Ÿ Four personal checks were stolen and forged for $1,204.79 between Jan. 27 and March 7 from a resident of the 12N200 block of Hilltop Road near Elgin, according to sheriff report.
Ÿ A Winchester rifle, two diamond earrings and four rings, including a man’s wedding band, were reported stolen sometime between 11 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday from a home on Vincent Place, police reports said. The homeowners came home to find items knocked over and rummaged through, and a leather bag sliced open. A back sliding door appeared to be the point of entry. All the items were taken from an upstairs bedroom. The rifle was in the bedroom closet.
