Castillo triples, Cubs beat Dodgers 8-1

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Catcher Welington Castillo hit a two-run triple off Chris Capuano in the first inning Thursday, leading the Cubs to an 8-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch.

Cubs’ left-hander Chris Rusin threw five innings of one-hit ball, a single by shortstop Alfredo Amezaga in the third. Rusin, who made seven starts for the Cubs after spending most of 2012 with Triple-A Iowa, has had an impressive spring. In four appearances, two as a reliever and two as a starter, he has allowed only one run and eight hits in 13 innings.

Capuano, who is battling for a spot in the Dodgers’ starting rotation, gave up five runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings. In 9 1/3 innings of work, he has allowed 13 hits.
