Antioch teens accused of burglarizing vehicle

By Christopher Placek

Antioch police said Thursday they arrested two teens this week who were caught stealing from a man's vehicle.

And police are asking residents of the Red Wing, Neuhaven and Clublands subdivisions who had portable electronic devices removed from their vehicles within the last two years to contact them, since several items were recovered during the course of the investigation that may be theirs.

Police said a complainant told them two individuals were rifling through his vehicle Monday on the 1100 block of Oak Shore Lane. He followed them to a house both entered, and police later made contact with the homeowner, who allowed them to search the home.

That's when police say they located the items stolen from the complainant's vehicle and several other items that did not belong to the homeowner.

The two suspects were arrested and charged with two counts each of burglary. They were identified as Jordan A. Mallegni, 18, of the 1000 block of Timber Lake Drive, and Conner R. Martin, 18, of the 800 block of Timber Lake Drive.

Those who may have had items stolen from their vehicles are asked to call police at (847) 395-8585, ext. 114.
