Young men and women are putting their lives on the line to keep America free. Is this really the way to treat them, cutting the money for defense? Maybe the president and Congress should each spend a week with our fighting troops so they could see what our troops go through every day. Instead of taking vacations and trips to safe areas where they can enjoy themselves, let them go to some of the dangerous areas and see if they still want to cut the defense budget.

TSA, controllers, baggage claim personnel are needed more than endowments for the arts. Let Hollywood and the rich people kick in to keep the arts functioning. There are many other places to cut rather than defense. Instead of funding abortions, let the people who want Roe v. Wade kick in and foot the bill. Remember, it is up to Congress and the president to do what is best for the citizens, and not for themselves and their cronies. Cut the pork projects.
