The American Cancer Society is urgently looking for more volunteer drivers -- in all of our Chicagoland offices. Volunteers drive cancer patients to/from treatments for the Road to Recovery program. This service is available for patients when no other form of transportation is available. These rides are provided at no charge and based on volunteer availability. This is a very flexible volunteer role because you set your schedule and provide assistance when you are available.
• Driver’s License required
• Must be at least 21
• Orientation or Training is offered
• No weekends...
• Current auto insurance card required
The Society has offices in Oak Brook Terrace, Batavia, Tinley Park, Rockford, Evanston, Arlington Heights, Lincolnshire and Chicago. We also have offices throughout the state that need drivers. In 2012, in DuPage County alone, volunteers provided 4,887 free rides to cancer patients to and from their life saving treatments and appointments.
Those who are interested in volunteering, or are a cancer patient in need of rides to treatment, can call American Cancer Society toll free at 800-227-2345 and they will be directed to their nearest office.Copyright © 2013 Paddock Publications, Inc. All rights reserved.
