Our Top 5 Blackhawks moments this season

By Tim Sassone

With the NHL season at the halfway point, here’s a look at the Top 5 moments for the record-setting Chicago Blackhawks this season:

1. Feb. 2 at Calgary

Hawks 3, Flames 2 (SO): With Ray Emery pulled for a sixth attacker, Marian Hossa scores with three seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime and the Hawks’ 3-2 win in a shootout. Meanwhile, Emery stands on his head at the other end, making 45 saves in the victory.

2. March 3 at Detroit

Hawks 2, Red Wings 1 (SO): Patrick Kane scores on a power play with 2:02 left to play, then gets the only goal in the shootout. Corey Crawford is spectacular in a winning effort.

3. March 1 vs. Columbus

Hawks 4, Blue Jackets 3 (OT): Brent Seabrook scores on a sweet no-look pass from Jonathan Toews at 3:23 of overtime to pull out the victory.

4. Jan. 22 vs. St. Louis

Hawks 3, Blues 2: Corey Crawford makes 14 of his 32 saves in the third period as the Hawks hold off the charging Blues.

5. Feb. 25 vs. Edmonton

Hawks 3, Oilers 2 (OT): Patrick Sharp makes a nifty move around defenseman Jeff Petry and drives the net, where he is stopped by goalie Nikolai Khabibulin. Marian Hossa gets two cracks at the rebound and buries the second one after Khabibulin robs him with a pad save.
