Elgin police continued to investigate Sunday the slaying of a 33-year-old woman found dead in her home early Saturday. It was the first homicide of 2013 in Elgin.

While police continue their investigation into Elgin's first homicide of 2013, family and friends are remembering Lisa Koziol-Ellis as loving, accepting and unique. The 33-year-old Elgin woman was found dead in her townhouse early Saturday morning. “She was an amazing, caring person who did everything possible to put everyone else before herself and let us all know how much she loved us,” said her sister, Renee Martinson of Glendale Heights.
