Our high school sports coverage expands with live streams

We're happy to announce that the Daily Herald has signed an agreement with HighSchoolCube to use its digital engine to expand our video coverage of prep sports and other high school events in the suburbs — just in time for the boys basketball playoffs that kicked off this week.

Streaming video powered by HighSchoolCube will be available tonight on dailyherald.com and on basketball.dailyherald.com for select boys basketball games in the area:

Ÿ In the Bartlett regional, York v. Bartlett: http://basketball.dailyherald.com/story/?id=463638

Fans of those teams should be able to find highlights on Saturday morning, as well as full reruns of the games.

While HighSchoolCube does not have access to the state girls basketball finals because of licensing rules set by the Illinois High School Association, we will be providing links on dailyherald.com and basketball.dailyherald.com to those games' video coverage, powered by PlayOn! Sports. Today's semifinal games are Montini vs. Vernon Hills in Class 3A at noon, and Rolling Meadows vs. Huntley in Class 4A at 6:30 p.m.

We're excited about this major step forward in our award-winning coverage of high school sports using HighSchoolCube's cutting-edge system and look forward to a long and successful association with the organization.
