Indiana man indicted on drug trafficking charges

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The brother of a former NFL player has been indicted on drug trafficking and money laundering charges stemming from one of Allen County’s largest drug busts to date.

A 44-count indictment unsealed Thursday names 33-year-old Michael Fabini, who appeared for an initial court hearing Thursday.

The Journal Gazette reports the indictment comes three months after authorities raided Fabini’s Fort Wayne home and an outbuilding at the home of his brother, former NFL player Jason Fabini.

Officials said at the time of the raid that Jason Fabini was not the target of the investigation and his name does not appear in any court documents.

Thirty-three-year-old Marshall Butler is also named in the indictment, which accuses Butler and Michael Fabini of conspiring to distribute more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana.
