Children's entertainer Raffi ("Baby Beluga") will perform in Aurora May 19, and social media is clearly on his mind. "Raffi #belugagrads Concert" is the name of Raffi's concert, and the inclusion of a Twitter hashtag in the title shows the Canadian artist's involvement with co-founding the Red Hood Project, a movement for Internet safety for young social media users.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit another of Raffi's pet projects, The Centre for Child Honouring on Salt Spring Island, BC, in Canada. The organization views honoring children as the best way to create sustainable, peacemaking societies.
"Raffi #belugagrads Concert" plays locally at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 19. Tickets are $25-$35 with VIP meet-and-greet tickets at $55. Call (630) 896-6666 or visit paramountaurora.com.
