I read this idea a while back in the Fence Post, and it is so simple that I wonder why it hasnít been up for consideration, especially now that we will be giving illegal immigrants the privilege to drive. In Illinois we are required to have a license plate and some counties require city/village stickers, so why not a sticker to prove insurance coverage? For the price we already pay for car insurance, couldnít we be given a sticker?
Why do we have to wait until we are hit to find out the driver had no insurance? When we pay our premium we could then be issued a sticker with just a large printed date showing coverage, like our plate stickers. Maybe we could even place this sticker on the left side of our plates or in the window. Insurance is already a law, why not make it easier to enforce?
