A single snowflake was photographed with three extension tubes and a 60mm macro lens. I took a smooth piece of black cardboard and caught the flake as it fell. The exposure was 800 ISO, F8, with a shutter speed of 1/40th of a second. Because of the extension tubes, the depth of field is very narrow, resulting in the blurring at the top and bottom of the photo. What surprised me most, was not the texture of the snowflake, but the texture of the cardboard.
