I was motivated to protest several members of the library board of trustees, over their handling of the dismissal of the previous library Director. I thought becoming a member of the board of trustees was the best way to become involved as a lover of libraries.
As an incumbent for one year, I took the lead in recommending mediation with our former Director. Failed after one trustee changed her mind. I was very active in the interviewing and hiring of our new library Director who has my full support.
Yes I have a library card for about fifteen years when I moved to Prestbury. I use it at least every two weeks to check out books, and books on tape.
Space is not a issue at this time, as the library is quite new.
We have a wonderful library that we can not be used to its full potential due to the economy. The library board of trustees has tried many times to have a successful funding referendum. We understand the toll that the Great Recession has taken.
