Vernon Hills hockey team to host St. Baldrick’s event

The Vernon Hills Capitals hockey team in Vernon Hills will host a St. Baldrick's Foundation BaldGames head-shaving event to raise funds and awareness for lifesaving childhood cancer research on Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Glacier Ice Arena, 670 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills. With a goal of raising $3,500, participants and players have registered to shave their heads to support the Foundation's mission to conquer childhood cancers. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the Capitals will host the Calumet Wolverines at 12:30 p.m. Three members of the Capitals will have their heads shaved at the end of the game.
